I lost my job about three months ago, and the job market is tough. I look everyday for gainful employment and there is nothing out there. Okay, there are some jobs out here but most of them are Amway jobs. There is nothing like going to an interview and finding out it is for Amway or MLM. I have made people mad at me, because I have had the nerve to walk out of their presentation. I am the one that should be offended, because I dressed up, wasted my time and money on gas for what I thought was a real job.
In any event, I can only voice my opinion and go by what I have experienced in life, but I have never seen anyone make it in Amway. I have worked with some incredible sales people and not one of them made a dime.
Now is the part where I get real. I have just started or joined a business opportunity (not Amway or MLM), or you could say, I have joined the dark side. Before you panic, the purpose of this blog is not to get you to sign up for my program (though that would be nice). I just want to document my little adventure, from time to time, and see if a person can be honest about a business opportunity and really make a living while working at home.
Like a lot of Americans, I have tried to make money by blogging and writing for various websites. I have only tried doing so for a few months, but I can say that it takes time to build an audience. And, while you are trying to build an audience, one does not make money. You are literally working for pennies an hour when you write for some of these websites.
I have also tried doing surveys over the computer for money. This is also a great way to make pennies an hour, but you also get the added bonus of a ton of spam mail! That being said, one can sign up for focus groups in a mall or at focus group facilities and make a hundred dollars or more a couple times a year (look in the phone book under market research).
In addition, I have tried some of those websites where you bid for jobs. They are a little better than surveys because you can make a whole dollar an hour.
So, before I tell you about the opportunity I picked, let me give you some background. I have worked at home and for myself, on and off, since 2003. During the last 9 years, I have been an HR consultant, a virtual assistant, an office manager (as a sub contractor), and I have owned my own market research business. Market research was by far the most profitable, sometimes I made $350 an hour, but I no longer have any clients because they have either changed occupations or went out of business. Now, we are ready to begin our journey into trying to make a living by answering a business opportunity on the internet.
